The 383 Budget Beater engine starts life as the Chevrolet Performance SP383 Deluxe crate engine. To get the engine ready for drag racing, the SDPC Raceshop installs a new Moroso 21815 oil pan and the correct oil pick-up tube, Federal Mogul High Pressure Oil Pump, 1-pc steel oil pump drive shaft, and custom grind hydraulic roller camshaft. Engines are dyno tested with our HVH 2" carb spacer, VP 101 Unleaded Gas, our in-house APD 750-cfm carburetor and a MSD7AL ignition system to insure each engine's dyno numbers are repeatable.
